This page explains how to ask us to delete your Five account and the personal data tied to it. You can use this process whether you signed up on the web or in our mobile app.

How to request account deletion

  1. Send an email to privacy@fiveapplication.com from the email address associated with your Five account (or, if you no longer have access to that inbox, explain that in your message and include information we can use to verify you, such as your username).
  2. Use a clear subject line, for example: Five account deletion request.
  3. In the body of the email, include your username and the email address registered on your account. If you use Google or another sign-in provider, mention that as well.
  4. We will confirm receipt when reasonable and may ask for additional information only if needed to verify that the request comes from the account owner.

After we verify your request, we will delete your account and associated personal data as described below, except where we must retain certain information as explained in this policy or by law.

What we delete

When your deletion request is completed, we intend to remove or irreversibly anonymize personal data tied to your account, including for example:

  • Your account credentials and sign-in identifiers;
  • Profile information (such as display name, bio, and profile image);
  • Content you created that is stored with your account;
  • Social graph data associated with your account (for example follow relationships and in-app notifications tied to you);
  • Other personal information held in our primary systems that is linked to your deleted account.

What we may keep and for how long

Some information may be retained for a limited time or longer where required or permitted by law, including to:

  • Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting obligations;
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or cooperate with lawful requests from public authorities;
  • Protect the security and integrity of our services (for example, short-term server or security logs that are automatically deleted or rotated on a schedule).

Backups and disaster-recovery systems may retain encrypted copies for a limited period before they are overwritten; restored data from backups is handled consistent with this page and our Privacy Policy.

Information that has already been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be linked back to you may be retained for analytics or operations.

Timing

We aim to process verified deletion requests without undue delay and, where applicable, within the timeframes required by law. Complex cases or high volume may take longer; we will communicate if we need more time or information.
